Description

What are the differences between T5 and T6 tubes

T5 and T6 tubes are common types of tubular lights, and their differences are mainly

reflected in physical dimensions, electrical and lighting performance, installation

requirements, and application scenarios. The specific distinctions are as follows:

1. Physical Dimensions

The diameter of a T5 tube is about 15.875mm (approximately 16mm in practical application),

while that of a T6 tube is about 19.05mm (about 19mm in practice). The T6 tube is thicker than

the T5. Additionally, the overall length and pin spacing of the two are roughly the same, which

allows T6 tubes to directly replace T5 tubes on T5 brackets without changing the bracket.

2. Electrical and Lighting Performance

Power and Heat Dissipation : T5 tubes are often available in low-power models such as

18W. Their smaller tube diameter leads to less heat dissipation, T6 tubes are commonly

28W. Their larger luminous area enables higher lumen output and brighter overall lighting,

and heat dissipation is also better than T5.

3. Application Scenarios

T5 Tubes: They are suitable for small spaces or occasions that prioritize energy efficiency,

such as small bathrooms, cloakrooms, corridors, and small offices.   T6 Tubes: They are more suitable for large-area lighting scenarios that require high brightness,

such as spacious living rooms, kitchens, shopping malls, and factories. For instance, a living

room over 15 square meters can use T6 tubes to ensure uniform and sufficient lighting in the

entire space.
